Career PilotS

Our school offers an individualized career training curriculum with planning and guidance to aspiring professional pilots. Rather than paying to join a turn-key “pilot mill” program in which the blind teach the blind: come obtain real-world, focused training with experienced instructors whom care more about the quality of time in your logbook than the quantity of time in theirs.

For informational and planning purposes, we’ve outlined the required and optional pathways that a career track student can follow from zero time all the way to the Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate. To schedule a consultation with our career advisor, please contact us directly.

Flight Instructor Certificate
● airplane single-engine rating
● airplane MULTI-engine rating
● INSTRUMENT airplane rating

Typical time required is from 20 to 40 hours, depending on whether or not the student elects to earn the instrument instructor rating. The student can work as a flight instructor to build flight time.

OPTION B:
COMMERCIAL WORK EXPERIENCE

Students who do not wish to earn their CFI can find entry-level positions in several industries to build flight time. Low-time pilot positions exist in survey flying, banner-towing, or flying skydivers. Some positions may require additional airplane endorsements or ratings.

You must have a minimum of 1500 hours to qualify for the Airline Transport Pilot certificate, at which point you can begin applying to regional airlines. Many air carriers, including regionals, provide the training required by 14 CFR Part 61 § 61.156 for this certificate. Our staff can assist you with your resume.
